Kristy's professional experiences, legal concerns, and subsequent legal training/research/writing campaigns have aggressively and directly contributed to substantial precedents and changes in state laws and bureaucratic operations.
The State of Texas revised and rewrote the laws and regulations governing talent agencies. The revised Act went into effect December 1, 2006.
In August 2005, Kristy participated in a focus group/forum session with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's Executive Director and General Counsel's Office. Other Texas agents were in attendance. In a brief presented to TDLR, Kristy addressed a number of points regarding the necessity of change to current, yet outdated, legislation. Kristy's legal counsel is recognized nationwide for its expertise in entertainment law, with clients including Jessica Simpson, Oprah Winfrey, Austin City Limits, and Burnt Orange Productions (in affiliation with UT Austin).
