Calliope Talent Management, LLC (Los Angeles), and Calliope Talent, Model, and Artist Management, LLC (San Antonio) cordially invite its actors to be a part of the upcoming Histrionic Artists' Conference and Showcase in San Antonio.
Numerous high profile clients will attend and scout this weekend event, including casting directors, advertisers, producers, directors, photographers, talent agents, and other entertainment industry dignitaries from San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Los Angeles. Calliope's clients are leading show business professionals who book and represent talent in Texas and Los Angeles. These clients are in the business of taking acting careers to higher levels.
Throughout the weekend, talent participants will showcase their acting skills and special abilities via prepared commercial and theatrical performances. Actors will have opportunities to network with Calliope's clients, and will attend scheduled workshops, panel discussions, question/answer forums, and callback sessions conducted by agents, casters, and clients. Participants will enjoy two full days in the presence of clients, unlike traditional audition settings in which actors have only a few minutes to showcase themselves.
Intensive rehearsals and training sessions will be held in Calliope's training studio. Rehearsals are designed to teach actors skills they may not otherwise absorb in a traditional educational setting.
Calliope has produced and participated in award winning showcases since 1996. From 1997 to 2000, Calliope was the South Texas Director for the MB Expo, a convention and competition in which agents and casters from all over the world scouted and signed participating talent. Calliope was awarded "Overall Agency of the Year" nine times in a row by an international panel of entertainment industry professionals. Calliope also received "Overall Troupe Performance" and "Top Choreography/Creativity" nine times.
From 1996 to 2000, Calliope produced the Calliope and Preeminent Awards Gala and Showcase four times for clients and dignitaries from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, and all over Texas.
The word histrionic means to act... To be dramatic and theatrical... To affect and move. A histrionic artist is an actor, performer, thespian, player, dramatist, stage player, trouper, and tragedian. The Histrionic Artists Showcase will encourage participants to passionately and enthusiastically embody these roles and characteristics.
